Overview
Request for Information (RFI): Transmission Manufacturing in Western Australia
Western Australia (WA) is accelerating its transition to clean energy, with the SWIS Transmission Plan setting out a multi-phase approach to the development of transmission infrastructure. Further, $75 million has been allocated to support local transmission manufacturing through the Made in WA Plan.
To guide this investment, the Department of Energy and Economic Diversification (DEED) is seeking input from businesses currently involved or interested in entering transmission manufacturing supply chains. Your response will assist in the identification of local capabilities, gaps, opportunities, and most appropriate forms of Government support.
This RFI covers areas such as:
- Products and services relevant to transmission infrastructure
- Experience, capacity, and interest in WA-based operations
- Workforce, partnerships, and potential for expansion
Please complete online or submit via email to transmission.manufacturing@jtsi.wa.gov.au, by 31 October 2025.
All information received will be treated as commercial in-confidence and shared only within Government at an aggregated level.
Your input will help ensure that WA Government programs supporting local capability in the energy transition reflect industry needs. While participation is very much appreciated, this is not a procurement process and participation does not guarantee inclusion or advantage in future-related procurement processes. For any queries related to this RFI, please contact us via the email provided above.
Responses submitted by 31 October will be reviewed and consolidated by DEED to inform government action on transmission manufacturing. High-level findings may be shared with participants upon request.
